On June 28, the first Global New Energy Vehicle Cooperation and Development Forum High-level Forum (GNEV2024) was held in Singapore. Hundreds of government leaders, international organizations, heads of industry institutions, academicians, experts and representatives of industry chain related enterprises were invited to attend the meeting. The forum focused on promoting the cooperation and win-win situation of global new energy automobile industry, exploring how to grasp the development direction of greening, low-carbonization and intelligentization of the automobile industry, and collaborating to build a highly internationalized open and cooperative system.

Participants agreed that in the face of the severe challenges of the global climate, green and low-carbon is the inherent requirement for the development of the global automobile industry, the new energy automobile industry is a recognized development trend, and openness and cooperation is a powerful driving force to support the development of new energy automobile.

Zhang Lei, Founder and CEO of Cheche Technology, was invited to attend and deliver a speech titled “Reinventing the New Energy Vehicle Industry Model”, discussing in depth the innovation and development trend of new energy insurance services, and emphasizing the strategic position of insurance in the whole life cycle of new energy vehicles.

Zhang Lei mentioned in his speech that the insurance cost of new energy vehicles has increased significantly in the total cost of use, accounting for 60% of the annual cost of vehicle use. Therefore, the strategic position of insurance is self-evident. Zhang Lei further pointed out that with the development of intelligent driving technology, part of the vehicle's insurance responsibility may be borne by the automobile manufacturer, and the insurance product will be transformed from a traditional financial product to a service form similar to the manufacturer's liability insurance.
