On April 30^th, the Insurance and Actuarial Science Youth Forum, as well as the unveiling ceremony of Nankai-MediTrust Actuarial Science Lab, was held in Nankai University. Zhou Yanli, former Vice President of China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Chen Dongsheng, Founder of Taikang Insurance Group, Xu Jinghui, former Chairman of the board of China Pacific Insurance Group, Zhang Xiaolei, Executive Vice President of China Association of Actuaries, Feng Runheng, Professor of Tsinghua University and scholars from insurance, technology, investment and consulting sectors have attended the forum.

Chen Yulu, President of Nankai University, said that the Youth Forum will facilitate the growth and evolution of the insurance industry with cutting-edge technologies, novel ideas and new models, carrying on the forward-looking perspective and the spirit of exploration of the Insurance and Actuarial Science Forum.

Zhang Lei, founder and CEO of Cheche Technology, made a keynote speech entitled How Digitalization and Intelligence Can Promote the Quality Growth of NEV Industry. In his speech, he mentioned that NEVs has dominated China’s auto industry.

According to the official statistics, in the first half of April 2024, the retail penetration rate of NEVs reached 50.39% while its wholesale penetration rate was 50.19%. It is the milestone in China automobile industry that NEVs has outgrown ICEs in real terms.

The Insurance and Actuarial Science Forum, established in 2023, is an academic exchange platform led by Nankai University. The Youth Forum will promote in-depth exchanges and cooperations among various industries and bring innovative ideas and solutions, with a view to boost the high-quality growth of the insurance industry in the new era.
